What can you do with excess fermentation residues or manure? Both of these can be stored, disposed of or burnt. These solutions all come at a price. Moreover, with these solutions the high concentrations of valuable nutrients such as potassium, phosphate and nitrogen go unused. And in regions with a nutrient surplus, such as Emsland or the western Münsterland region, depositing these substances on arable land is not always advisable.
Then there is the possibility of drying the material out professionally. This is not free of charge either, but - it pays off many times over! Only through thorough drying can the weight and volume of these outstanding waste substances be massively reduced. All forms of separation are unnecessary here. Separation is a partial step but is not an overall solution to the problem. Therefore: the best solution is to send all the material to a RHINO agricultural dryer, in either solid or liquid form, which results in a dry matter (DM) content of 85-90% and more. Now we have a wonderfully homogenous dry substance that can be used as a field or garden fertiliser. This can now be transported to agricultural or horticultural land in dump trucks or pelleted and filled into sacks for sale to domestic customers. A clear outcome: the RHINO agricultural dryer converts excesses into a finished product to enhance the environment.

This device processes the substrate to be dried right where it belongs: in the drying vessel. As a result, all the nutrients remain completely in the dried product. Nothing of value ends up in the exhaust air. Together with the filter units installed above the drying vessel, the SMD works hard and eliminates the need to purchase an exhaust air scrubber.
The SMD supplies sulphuric acid in 96% concentration to the drying plant; here it is diluted to 20% volume for its use with water. This solution passes via a system of hoses to the drying vessel, which it enters via nine separate openings. It binds the ammonia gas (NH3) and converts it to solid ammonium sulphate [molecular formula (NH4)2SO4].
From this we obtain an excellent field and garden fertiliser. All completely automatically! And: as well as reduced investment costs, both the tedious cleaning work on an exhaust scrubber and the laborious storage of the ammonium sulphate solution (ASS), which is a pollutant to water and corrosive to concrete, are no longer necessary.
